All day today I thought about this great dinner I was going to make and how I was going to take pictures! and then blog about it! Unfortunately, when I got home from working out, I was pretty hangry and thought that taking all those pictures might cut into my eating time, so I decided against it. It’s probably a good thing, though, because just as dinner was ready, I burned the HOLY SCHNIKES out of my hand. Tears were shed and I’m not gonna lie, there might have even been a wail or two. A tip for all you pseudo-chefs out there: Pans that have been in a 375 degree oven for twenty minutes? Yeah, they’re hot. Don’t touch them.
I’m not sure if you can tell from the picture, but my hand is totally fucked.

I’m a smart girl. First I use a potholder to pull the food out of the oven. Then I remove the oven mitt or lay down the potholder. Then I grab the edge of the pan in order to move it to a position for ease of removing the food. Then I say a few choice words and run my now burned hand under the oven.
Yeah, you’d think after doing this atleast 5 times a month for the past 30 years or so that I’d figure it out.

I feel stupid for acknowledging this, but the same thing happened to me too! Fortunately I just burnt one finger though 😛 Wow, that looks painful!
