“Deck the harrs with borghs of horry, fa ra ra ra ra, ra ra ra ra”

It was my intention this holiday season to NOT decorate. At all. But dammit all to hell if Christmas decorations aren’t lovely to look at while knitting a scarf on a Monday (ahem, or a Saturday) night. Behold! My holiday decorations in all their glory!

The Tree. Last year, we were too late and they didn’t have any five to six foot trees left. Our apartment has high ceilings, yes, but not that high. This year’s tree is much more apartment-sized. That being said, there is now not an empty wall in the entire living area of our apartment. If I were claustrophobic, we would have a problem. Luckily I’m not, however, I do kind of feel like one of those hoarders Oprah has interventions for on her show. Sad.

The Poinsettia. By far my favorite of all the holiday shrubbery. There’s just something about their lovely deep red color that brings out the Christmas spirit. Or maybe it’s just the fact that I don’t ever have to water them and they will last right on through till February…

The Wreath. Hey look! We live in apartment number seven! This wreath is a product of one of my many ill-fated attempts at craftiness. But it looks nice! you say. Ah yes, well, that is because this is the wreath my friend made. Mine, on the other hand, well, I’m sure it ended up where it was supposed to from the moment the words, “Let’s make our own wreaths!” passed over my lips: In. The. Trash.

The Menorah. Okay, I’ll be honest, I totally forgot to bring the menorah out until I began taking pictures of all my other holiday decorations. It’s sad, isn’t it? To this day, even Jewish holiday decor is being persecuted! (My grandma is so thrilled with this blog right now, I can feel it…)

I had a friend in high school who got a potato once for Chanukah…

That’s it. No more story. I think that one line is enough.
