For those of you who were not at our wedding, perhaps you don’t know about the Unity Shot. The Unity Shot is a sacred tradition in Chris’s family, wherein one brother calls another brother who calls another brother who calls the final brother to take a shot of whiskey. It’s not just about the whiskey, though (haha, yeah right.) It’s about one brother being there for another brother, no matter the circumstance, time of day, what-have-you. And of course, parents, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, girlfriends (if they’re worthy), and even grandparents are welcome to participate in the Unity Shot.
Since The Brothers are all spread out now, it takes a little more effort to orchestrate a Unity Shot. In Oregon, for example, you can’t buy booze past 8:00 PM. Where Calvin lives, it’s three hours ahead. Despite all this, though, The Brothers always find a way to make the Unity Shot possible.
Tonight, like any other night, we transcended time, space, and state liquor laws to ensure that we were all able to partake in the Unity Shot.
UNITY!
This is not an actual shot…Just a cocktail…A cocktail that we took a really large sip out of…Sometimes you have to improvise…
Um. That’s a freaking huge shot.
